In this chapter we present the marine vegetal and animal communities of the atolls, with a naturalist sight. From the bacteria (0.4mm in size) to the shark (a few meters in size), each organism takes place on the atoll's ecosystem. We consider also the terrestrial animals and plants living on the emerged lands ("motu") whose highest point is often no more then 1 m above the sea level.
