AVENIR RESERVE A L'ENSEIGNEMENT SUPERIEUR
ET A LA RECHERCHE EN FRANCE
POSITION DE L'UMR 6540 (février 2009)

Le gouvernement a commencé depuis quelques mois à bouleverser en profondeur notre système de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur. Dans son discours du 22 janvier, le Président Nicolas Sarkozy a annoncé son intention d'accélérer encore les choses et de passer en force si nécessaire, car il veut "en finir avec une organisation désastreuse". Il en a profité pour dénoncer la faible productivité des personnels qui travaillent dans ce secteur. Nous nous élevons contre cette stigmatisation de personnels qui, dans leur grande majorité, contribuent à une production scientifique de qualité, ce qui est reconnu au plan international.

Étant en désaccord profond avec ce diagnostic, nous n'acceptons pas la casse programmée. Nous refuserons donc désormais, chacun à la mesure de ses moyens et de ses responsabilités, d'accepter de contribuer à la destruction de l'actuel système de recherche de notre pays, en particulier au démantèlement des organismes de recherche, et à la diminution des postes statutaires. Nous nous opposerons à ces mesures destructrices. Pour ces raisons, nous déclarons que DIMAR est en lutte.

FUTUR OF THE FRENCH HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH SYSTEM
POSITION OF THE UNIT OF RESEARCH 6540 (february 2009)

Since a few months, the French government has begun to deeply change our system of research and higher education. In his speech on January 22, 2009, President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced its intention to speed up things and to force it if necessary, because he wants “to be done with a disastrous organization” and he denounced the low productivity of staff working in this sector. We protest against this stigmatization of the staff which, in their great majority, do contribute to a scientific production of quality which is internationally recognized.

We deeply disagree with this diagnosis and we do not accept the planed dismantling of the present institutions. Therefore, each of us in its abilities and responsibilities, will now refuse to contribute to the destruction of the current research system in our country, especially in dismantling research organizations, and in reduction of permanent positions. We will oppose these destructive measures. For these reasons, we declare that DIMAR is on struggle.
